Celebrating Thanksgiving at School

Dec 3, 2015 by

This wonderful time of year has arrived when we celebrate Thanksgiving and take the time to give thanks, appreciating everything we are blessed to have in our lives – our family, teachers, friends and of course, our education.

On the 26th of November, we carried out an activity with our students related to this special time of the year. They decorated a big turkey, using their hands to create the feathers. On the feathers, each student wrote what they were grateful for in life.

About Thanksgiving: On the fourth Thursday of November, Americans celebrate Thanksgiving, a national holiday honoring the early settlers and their harvest feast known as the first Thanksgiving.

In 1863, Abraham Lincoln declared a national Thanksgiving Day, in November to give thanks for “general blessings.”

Happy Thanksgiving! Don’t forget to give thanks to your family and friends.
